COVID-19 Update

TFA Families

An update on the COVID-19 situation as it pertains to us:

  • All leagues are suspended until 4/15/2020
  • TFA is canceling training until 4/6/2020
  • Tournaments are being decided at the club level - TFA has canceled United Cup
  • USYS and OSYSA will be working to determine any changes needed to recover the hiatus time
  • Distance learning - TFA style - coming soon!

All of our partner leagues have halted games until April 15, 2020.  As you also know, public schools in Ohio have also closed the schools until April 6th.  At this time TFA is also planning to follow the schools and close until April 6th.  Given the fluidity of the situation though, we will be evaluating new information from the appropriate experts as it comes to see if we can change our plans.  We will continue to communicate regularly.

Ohio South Youth Soccer has decided to let clubs decide what to do with their tournaments.  TFA has decided to cancel the United Cup as we believe it falls under the intent of Ohio's mandate regarding gatherings larger than 100 people.  We hope conditions will allow us to hold the Queen City tournament later in the season.

We are expecting information from US Youth Soccer and Ohio South Youth Soccer for how the rest of the season will go.  Events later in the season - Governor's, President's and State Cup that also link in with the National League program are all key events.

Finally, we fully understand that soccer is a great way to harness our children's sometimes boundless energy.  To that end, while we are all working thru this situation, be on the lookout for ideas from our Director Team for things the kids can do at home to help use that energy and keep their skills fresh.

As always, we will communicate what we learn as soon as we can.

Your's in soccer,

Wayne Smith
TFA - Board of Directors President
