Game Scheduling

Scheduling Guidelines

General Guidelines

All leagues now have self-scheduling meetings where you work with your opponents to create your game schedule.  These meetings are mandatory and someone must attend from your team.  It is helpful (not required) to have at least 2 people attend from your team, preferably the coach and the admin. Come prepared with your tournament schedule and any other dates you need to work around. You can get a head start by emailing your opponents ahead of time to start scheduling some games before the meeting.

Or, some leagues allow remote scheduling.

Refer to the specific league information below for details on how this scheduling information is relayed to the TFA Referee/Field Assignor.

Now that all leagues have self-scheduling, the only reason a game should have to be rescheduled is if it is cancelled due to weather.  When working on reschedules, contact your opponent via email (save all email correspondence).  Be sure to get several possible dates to reschedule the game.

TFA Referee/Field Assignor:
Kevin Scherer
[email protected]
513-235-9831

When contacting Kevin to request field assignments, please provide the following:

1) Home team and Visiting Team (ie TFA B07 Elite vs Kolping B07 Orange)
2) League and Division (ie Buckeye U14 Boys Premier 1)
3) Age and Gender (ie U14 Boys) - please do not give me the birth year of the players
4) Options - location (usually TSC), dates, times, and anything else that I need to consider (coach conflicts, travel, etc.)

** Provide multiple available dates
** Turn around time for response:  5 days

2021 Fall Referee Fees and Field Directions

CPL / DL / TPL Leagues

The TFA Referee/Field Assignor will be present at the scheduling meeting to obtain the TFA home game schedule.

Reschedules

If the match is cancelled due to weather, you have 3 weeks from the original date to play it.  Teams must agree upon a new date and enter it into the system within one week.

Refer to the CPL website for pre and post play rules.

Buckeye League

The TFA Referee/Field Assignor will be present at the scheduling meeting to obtain the TFA home game schedule.

Reschedules

Refer to the following documents on the Buckeye website, http://buckeyepremierweb.com/forms-policies:

Game Reschedule Request Form
Game Reschedule How To and Tips

Note that Kevin will assign both fields and referees; however, you must make sure the Buckeye online schedule is updated with any changes.  The update is handled via Buckeye's game change process (see above documents).

Refer to the Buckeye Calendar for the earliest and latest dates games can be scheduled.

OSSL / GCL / State Cup / President's Cup

For OSSL games, you will need to follow the league procedures for getting the game information into their online schedule as well as for contacting the referee assignor so that your game will have refs.

For GLC games, you will need to follow the league procedures for getting the game information into their online schedule.  Make sure you know what you need to do to make sure the games are setup with the ref assignor.

For State Cup, Presidents Cup, etc., you'll need to let OSYSA know about the agreed to game info and they will take care of assigning the refs.

You can check the OSSRC.COM website (Game Assignments tab) to see if your game is setup for OSSL, GLC, and State/Presidents Cup games.  You may even be able to see if and who is assigned to officiate the game by using the "League Admin" section.  You'll need to enter the game date and then you can see all games in the system for that date or you can use the field selector to filter what is returned.
